Jazz at Lincoln Center Exchange Programme is a complete Success!
The Field Band Foundation and Jazz at Lincoln Center just completed an exchange programme generously sponsored by the US Department of State Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. The exchange programme focused on exchange of music, culture and using music as a medium for raising awareness around HIV prevention and education. The Septet from JALC led by Wycliffe Gordon performed in Durban, Soweto, Pretoria and Cape Town. The Septet held workshops for our band members and taught them about New Orleans style jazz and the deep traditions from which this early style of jazz developed. The performances were packed and the highlight was when our members took the stage with this world-class band to perform! To see pictures from the workshops and rehearsals, click here

Our best support is through word-of-mouth and e-mail.PLEASE - take just a moment to go to our website and click on "E-mail to a Friend" and send an e-mail about the FBF to someone you know who would be interested in supporting our work in South Africa. Thank you!
