December 1999 - we drove from Canada to New Orleans, as we wanted to be in the happiest place on earth for the millennium. I wanted so much to tell you that you provided the exact experience I had hoped for. My family and I sat mesmerized listening to you and your family play in the streets of New Orleans. Your music touched the very core of my soul and is still there.

So often, since the devastation in New Orleans, I have wondered how you and your family made out. I kept praying you would make it as the world definitely needs your music.

Today - it dawned on me that I could google you - and THERE YOU WERE! I am thrilled you are still around to touch the souls of mankind.

I was in New Orleans last July and was disappointed not to find you there. I asked around and heard that you and the band were in Vermont. I was also disappointed to find that there is not much street music happening now.

We have been watching Treme, which we love, and have said more than once that you should be featured in the show. Then this past weekend we first heard (recognizing your very distinctive sound) and then saw you! You were terrific -- and we all hope you have a recurring role. Not having been down in New Orleans post Katrina, we can only guess at what it was really like, but it seems like Treme has done a good job of capturing that very difficult time. And now, when it seems like people are finally back on their feet, there is the BP spill. Our hearts go out to everybody in New Orleans and the state of Louisianna.
